The number of Japanese tourists visiting China in August dropped 25.5 percent to 267,000 from a year earlier, Kyodo news agency reported Monday, citing China’s National Tourism Administration. The decline, the 14th month in a row, was blamed on the territorial dispute between the two nations and concerns over China’s worsening air pollution, the report said. The number of foreign visitors to China in August was down 6.2 percent year on year to 2.28 million, with South Korea as the No. 1 source of the tourists, it added.
