Guangzhou district may ease housing curb, paper says

A price limit on new homes in Guangzhou’s Nansha district may be eased after October 10, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported Wednesday, citing several developers. The developers said they were told by a government source that the cap on the presale price of new homes in the district will be raised to 14,000 yuan (US$2,286.97) per square meter from 8,400 yuan per square meter. However, a local land official denied the policy had changed, and urged developers to strictly implement existing rules, the report said.
