HKEx may launch RMB after-hours futures trading, paper says

Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd. (HKEx) (00388.HK) plans to include renminbi currency futures in after-hours trading, aiming to snatch market share from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reported Wednesday, citing a stock exchange source. HKEx will discuss the rules and process for the trading this month. After-hours trading contributes about 3 to 5 percent of the trading volume of the Hang Seng Index Futures and Hang Seng China Enterprises Index Futures, a level that exceeded expectations when the sessions began in April, the report said.
