Jiuzhaigou bureau says sorry for holiday snafu, paper says

The Jiuzhaigou Tourism Bureau has issued an official apology for an incident on Wednesday that stranded as many as 4,000 tourists at the Jiuzhaigou Valley, a popular sightseeing spot in Sichuan province, the Chengdu Daily reported on Thursday. The bureau said the incident was caused by a small number of tourists who jumped queues trying to board tour buses and triggered a bigger chaos that eventually halted the entire bus service for hours. All tourists were safely evacuated by 10 p.m. on Wednesday, the report said.
