Students go under knife in search for better jobs, Xinhua says

More young people are choosing to have plastic surgery to improve their appearance and start new lives, Xinhua reported Wednesday, without citing a source. Cosmetic surgery centers in South Korea are bustling with Chinese patients, especially during the holidays, with one center saying that a quarter of its Chinese customers in 2012 were college students. They traveled to South Korea to go under the knife, aiming to improve their self-confidence and secure better job offers, the report said. Surgery on the eyes and nose was the most popular, while an operation to reshape the face, including reconfiguring the jawbone and liposuction, was also in demand, it said.
