Taiwan puts T shares by local firms on agenda, paper says

Tseng Ming-chung, head of Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission, said Thursday the commission will hold a meeting with other ministries and departments next month to discuss details of listings of so-called T shares by domestic firms operating on the mainland, Want Daily reported Friday. Guo Shuqing, former chairman of the mainland’s China Securities Regulatory Commission, proposed in January to allow mainland firms to list T shares but Taiwan rejected the proposal. Wu Yui-chun, director of the commission’s Securities and Futures Bureau, said the push to attract T-share listings will be done in phases, the report said.
