Chinese tourists are big spenders in Germany, report says

Chinese tourists spent an average of 610 euros (US$827.56) on duty-free products in Germany last year, more than the 308 euros and 337 euros spent by traditional big spenders from Saudi Arabia and Russia respectively, China News Service reported Sunday, citing a report by Deutsche Presse Agentur. Statistics showed overseas visitors spent a total of 1.5 billion euros in Germany last year, of which 32 percent was from Chinese tourists. According to the German tourism center, Chinese tourists spent most on jewelry, watches and clothes, the report said.
