Bo Xilai appeals conviction, WSJ says

Bo Xilai, the former Communist Party Politburo member who was sentenced to life in prison last month, has formally filed an appeal against his conviction for bribery, embezzlement and abuse of power, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing a person with direct knowledge of the case. The appeal was filed on Sept. 30, a week after he was convicted and sentenced by the Intermediate People’s Court in the eastern city of Jinan, the source was quoted as saying. During his trial in August, Bo vigorously denied all the charges against him, the report said.
