Beijing’s Bureau of Land and Resources has made available 1,093 hectares of land to the capital city’s property market as of the end of September, the Beijing Daily reported Thursday. Of these plots, 835 hectares were for residential development while 240 hectares were for commercial purposes. With another 150 hectares of residential land plots to be rolled out this month, the total size of plots made available for housing during the first 10 months would be close to 1,000 hectares, exceeding the annual target of 850 hectares set out at the beginning of 2013. According to the bureau, as of the end of September, around 40,000 subsidized housing units were built this year, which would equal 2 million square meters in terms of floor space, the report said.
