Mainland migrants good for Hong Kong, paper says

Mainland migrants are needed for Hong Kong’s development, the South China Morning Post reported Thursday, citing a commentary in Communist Party mouthpiece People’s Daily. It cited the case of film actress Tang Wei who obtained Hong Kong residency in 2009 through the quality migrant scheme.
