China’s power use up 10.4% on year in Sept, govt says

Electricity consumption in China rose 10.4 percent to 444.8 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in September from a year earlier, but the rate was 3.3 percentage points lower than the growth for August, the National Energy Administration said on its website Monday. Industrial power use was up 8.1 percent to 306.2 billion kWh, 3.9 percentage points lower than the previous month’s growth. From January to September, users consumed 3.95 trillion kWh of electricity, up 7.2 percent year on year.
