Land sales in Guangzhou rose to a record 55.99 billion yuan (US$9.16 billion) in the nine months to September, National Business Daily reported Monday, citing data from the Guangzhou Municipal Land Resources and Housing Administrative Bureau. The figure is up 65 percent from 33.8 billion yuan for the whole of 2012 and marks a record high for the southern city. It is is 17.7 percent higher than the budget for this year. During the nine months, 128 plots covering 7.46 million square meters were sold, the report said.
