Li touts high-speed-rail tech in Thailand, paper says

Premier Li Keqiang {李克强} is promoting China’s home-grown high-speed-rail technology during his state visit to Thailand, Business Today reported Monday. The technology is advanced, safe, reliable and cheaper, Li was quoted as saying at the opening of trade fair in Bangkok with Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. Eighteen Asian countries inked a blueprint in 2010 to develop pan-Asia rail networks but construction has been slow due to the differences over technical standards and funding, the report said. Li hopes China and Thailand will embark on major rail construction projects as soon as possible and promote connections in the region, according to the report.
