China is expected to receive up to 3.4 billion visitors this year, representing 10 percent year-on-year growth, China News Service reported Monday, citing China Tourism Academy sources. Annual tourism income is projected to total 2.87 trillion yuan (US$469.86 billion), up 11 percent over 2012. Outbound travelers and related travel spending are expected to grow by 18 percent and 20 percent year on year, respectively. The travel trade deficit — the difference between inbound and outbound tourist spending — for the year is forecast to be US$73 billion, the report said.
