CASS forecasts China GDP growth at 7.7%, paper says

The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) has predicted that China’s gross domestic product (GDP) will grow 7.7 percent this year as it forecast in the beginning of the year, compared with the projection of 7.6 percent by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and 7.5 percent by the World Bank, Beijing Business Today reported Tuesday, citing a quarterly report published by the CASS on Monday. The country’s economy is on track for stable growth amid improving structures, the academy said. CASS forecasts a 7.5 percent growth next year, compared with the 7.3 percent prediction by the IMF and 7.7 percent by the World Bank, the paper said.
