China’s national-level government agencies, including affiliated public institutions and local branches, will recruit more than 19,000 civil servants in 2014, a slight decrease from the current year, Xinhua news agency reported on Monday. Applications for those who want to take the exams for the positions will be received starting Monday, according to the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. In the 2013 exams, 20,839 positions were open to application. The selection process will continue favoring candidates who have worked in grassroots communities, the report said.
