Shanghai banks upbeat about operating conditions, paper says

The Shanghai Bureau of the China Banking Regulatory Commission said optimism is growing in the local banking industry about the operating environment, the Securities Times reported Thursday, citing a Q3 survey of 190 financial institutions in Shanghai. Of the banks surveyed, 45.57 percent said the operating environment is good, up by 15.94 percentage points over the previous quarter, while 51.48 percent of respondents thought it is average, down by 9.02 percentage points over the previous quarter. Looking ahead, 45.99 percent of respondents are rosy on the operating environment, up 18.42 percentage points over the second quarter, the report said.
