Rémy Cointreau 1H sales down 3.6%, statement says

French liquor maker Remy Cointreau S.A. said Thursday that its sales fell 3.6 percent year on year to 558 million euro (US$762.42 million) in the first half of its fiscal year, blaming China’s clampdown on extravagant gift-giving for slowing sales in Asia, according to a statement on its website late Thursday. The company recorded good growth in all markets except Asia, it said. But the company said it remains confident in its long-term prospects in China.
