China steel prices may continue to fall in 4Q, paper says

Steel prices are expected to fall in the fourth quarter as oversupply persists in the industry, the Beijing News reported Monday, citing an analyst. The steel price composite index rebounded in the summer, but began to decline on Aug. 20, the report said. As of Oct. 18, the gauge stood at 3,590 yuan (US$588.43) per metric ton, down 3.01 percent from the level seen two months ago.
