China’s televsion broadcasters are required to devote at least 30 percent of air time to news, the economy and children’s programs, Beijing Business Today reported Monday, citing a notice from the State General Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. The new policy takes effect in 2014. Meanwhile, each TV station is limited to one authorized foreign program a year and one singing contest on prime time. The restrictions will hit the TV stations’ advertising income, the report said.
