India is expected to announce relaxations in both travel and business visa arrangements for China during Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s three-day official visit to China starting Tuesday, the China Times reported Sunday, saying it was part of a bid to attract Chinese capital to the country. Singh is also expected to extend the existing validity period for business visas from six-month single entry visas to 12-month multiple-entry ones. India may also speed up issuance of safety licenses, which are essential for visas to start work on infrastructure projects. In 2012, India had a trade deficit of about US$40 billion with China, and that trade gap is believed to be widening each year, the report said.
