China faces tight supply of natural gas in the peak winter months after consumption spiked in the first three quarters, National Business Daily reported Tuesday, citing Lian Weiliang, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). Growing consumption has left the country more reliant on imported natural gas and industry sources said the shortfall could be up to 10 billion cubic meters this winter. Earlier, PetroChina Co. Ltd. (00857.HK, 601857.CN) said supply will increase 13 percent. The NDRC has asked suppliers to increase production, the report said.
