Shanghai is drafting policies to encourage the wider use of all kinds of information technology, Shanghai Daily reported Tuesday, citing the Shanghai Commission of Economy and Information Technology. The policies are expected to be ready by the end of this year, the report said. Revenue from Shanghai’s e-commerce industry hit 781.5 billion yuan (US$128.2 billion) last year, up 41 percent year on year, according to the Shanghai E-commerce Association. The city has 3.2 million broadband users, covering 60 percent of local families, it said.
