YTO Express, a leading express delivery firm in Shanghai, has launched an investigation into some of its staff suspected of selling personal information on customers to online traders, Shanghai Daily reported Wednesday. The information is reportedly used by online store owners to forge transaction records, and also as reference to potential customers. Stolen personal information includes customer names, addresses, phone numbers and serial numbers from the courier company, the report said. Some 3,000 traders are selling courier numbers and customer information on taobao.com, the country’s largest online shopping platform, it added.
