Distributed PV generation capacity target off mark, report says

China is unlikely to achieve the installed capacity target for distributed photo-voltaic (PV) power generation this year, Beijing Business Today reported Wednesday, citing Wu Dacheng, an official with the Renewable Energy Society. The installed capacity for such power generation will be difficult to surpass 3 gigawatts (GW) this year, fall short of the 5GW target that was set at the beginning of the year, the paper said. The failure is mainly due to the absence of detailed supportive policy as well as inadequate tariff settlement and financing models, it said.
