Power use by China’s manufacturing industry grew 6.4 percent year on year in the nine months to September to 2.82 trillion kilowatt-hours, Chinanews.com reported Tuesday, citing the China Electricity Council. The sector consumed 71.5 percent of the 3.95 trillion kWh used nationwide during the period, the report said. In September alone, manufacturing used 300.3 billion kWh, up 8.1 percent from same time last year, while the country consumed 444.8 billion kWh, or 10.4 percent more than a year earlier. Manufacturing used more than 8 billion kWh of electricity every day in the four months to September.
