Minimum wages in 24 regions across China rose 18 percent on average in the nine months to September, according to the figures released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security on Friday. Shanghai registered the highest minimum monthly wage at 1,620 yuan (US$266.32). In terms of hourly wage, Beijing and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region had the highest at 15.2 yuan.
