China has released a blueprint for the information industry through 2015, China Business News reported Friday, citing the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Under the plan, the country envisages more than 850 million netizens by 2015, and over 450 million third generation (3G) mobile technology users, with 3G networks basically covering all the urban and rural areas, it said. Internet broadband users are expected to exceed 270 million by then. Meanwhile, e-commerce transactions are expected to hit 18 trillion yuan (US$2.9 trillion) by 2015, accounting for more than 9 percent of the country’s total retail sales.
