Sino-EU economic ties key to global economy, Xinhua says

Vice premier Ma Kai {馬凱} said China and the European Union (EU) are keen to improve economic cooperation after a decade of strategic partnership, Xinhua reported Thursday, citing a column Ma wrote in the French newspaper Les Echos. According to Ma, the EU has been China’s second-largest trade partner for the last 10 consecutive years, with an average US$1.5 billion in daily trade now between the two sides. Ma said it is important for China and the EU to continue cooperation for the benefit of both parties and the global economy, the report said.
