Infant-formula maker Mead Johnson Nutrition Co. said it is being asked by United States securities regulators for documents relating to certain business activities of a subsidiary in China, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday. The US maker of Enfamil baby formula and other nutritional products said it is conducting its own investigation into the matter. It is voluntarily complying with the US government’s request which seeks information regarding certain expenses by the subsidiary in connection with the promotion of the company’s products, the report said. Meanwhile, the company said third-quarter earnings rose 15 percent thanks to improved sales across all regions.
