‘Eldergartens’ ease worries over senior citizens, Xinhua says

Nursing homes that bear more resemblance to kindergartens than traditional elder care facilities have been sprouting up in China’s urban communities, Xinhua news agency reported on Sunday. When they leave for work in the morning, young people take their parents to the “eldergarten”, a health care center inside their residential community, and collect them again after work, the report said. Besides recreational facilities, medical care is readily available at such centers, relieving the younger generation of worries about safety and wellbeing of their parents, it noted.
