Apple Inc.’s Greater China revenue rose 6 percent year on year to US$5.73 billion in the fourth fiscal quarter, the company said in a statement Tuesday. Its total revenue during the period climbed 4 percent to US$37.47 billion. However, net profit fell 9 percent year on year to US$7.51 billion, it said. The statement did not say why net profit was down. But during the period, it spent US$1.17 billion, or 28.92 percent more, on research and development, and the cost of sales surged to US$23.60 billion, US$2.04 billion more year on year.
