China to gauge health impact of dirty air, paper says

China will roll out a nationwide air pollution monitoring network over the next three to five years to assess the impact of smog on human health, Beijing Business Today reported Tuesday, citing the National Health and Family Planning Commission. Data from the network will enable researchers to gauge the population’s exposure to pollutants and take earlier action on diseases linked to airborne pollution, the report said. Preventative measures will also be put in place, it said.
