The Boeing Company has signed a multi-year contract with Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) for procurement of inboard flaps for the Boeing 737 Max aircraft, China Daily reported Monday, citing an announcement by the US firm. The production of the components, which will be routed through Xian Aircraft Industry Co. Ltd., will make the group the first Chinese supplier for the new aircraft, it said. The contract will take effect from mid-2015. Boeing 737 Max is a new-engine variant of the current Boeing 737 and the first delivery of 737 Max is planned for 2017.
