CNPC may lose hold on pipeline assets, paper says

The National Energy Administration has reportedly finished drafting a policy that would remove oil companies’ ownership of oil pipelines, opening the door for private capital to take stakes in oil-related assets, the 21st Century Business Herald reported Monday, citing sources from a series of industry seminars organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the National Development and Reform Commission. Market rumors suggest that a number of companies could be set up to take over the pipelines now owned and managed by the China National Petroleum Corporation, the report said.
