Govt think tank points to 8 reform areas, Xinhua says

The Development Research Center of the State Council has identified eight key areas for reform in a report released ahead of the Communist Party’s Central Committee plenum next month, Xinhua reported Monday. The central government think tank called for changes to monopoly industries, land, finance, tax and fiscal systems, opening-up, government administration, state-owned assets, as well as innovation and green development. The centre also urged the authorities to widen market access and promote competition in key industries, including rail and exploration of unconventional oil and gas, the reoprt said.
