Tianjin tops Jan-Sept GDP growth list, CNS says

Tianjin led China’s provinces and major cities in GDP growth in the first three quarters, with its economy expanding 12.6 percent compared with the same time last year, China News Service reported Monday, citing data from 25 regions. Chongqing came in second with 12.4 percent growth, while Beijing and Shanghai were both at the bottom on 7.7 percent, the same as the country’s overall expansion. Guangdong province was first in GDP, with an economy valued at 4.44 trillion yuan (US$729.64 billion), followed by Jiangsu province’s 4.19 trillion yuan, the report said.
