China oil reserves at 3.33 bln tons, govt says

China’s oil reserves stood at 3.33 billion metric tons at the end of 2012, while natural gas reserves reached 4.4 trillion cubic meters, according to data posted on the government website Wednesday. In 2012, four new hundred-million-ton oil fields and three new hundred-billion-cubic-meter natural gas fields were discovered. Fixed asset investment in the mining industry amounted to 1.31 trillion yuan (US$213.32 billion) while import and export of mineral products reached US$991.9 billion.
