Honeywell aims to ride China refining boom, paper says

Honeywell International Inc said its planned new plant in China will be able to support the boom in the country’s oil refining industry in the long term, Shanghai Daily reported on Wednesday. Located in the port city of Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province, the initial phase of the new facility will include production lines for catalysts, adsorbents and other equipment to meet the needs of the oil refining, gas processing, petrochemicals and renewable energy industries. Rajeev Gautam, a company executive, was quoted as saying after a groundbreaking event Tuesday in Zhangjiagang that China’s refining demand could reach 700 million tons per year by 2015, up from 540 million tons per year currently.
