Tse Sui Luen Jewellery (International) Ltd. (TSL) (00417.HK) said it will expand its wedding services business into some second-tier Chinese cities to tap rising demand, deputy chief executive Lambert Chan said Wednesday.
The company will also provide more personalized wedding plans including customised marriage proposal services, Chan said.
Prospective couples in second-tier cities are warming to Western-style wedding practices. In addition, they have rising consumption power of typical people in newly affluent areas with growing populations, he said.
TSL is gearing up its mainland gold business for the mass market, chairman Annie Yau Tse said.
In the second half of the financial year to February 2014, it expects to increase the number of stores selling gold and jewellery to 20 from five. Altogether, the company has 189 outlets, she said.
It will add five to seven new stores in the mainland and two in Hong Kong.
