Some 102.66 million mobile phones were sold in China in the three months to September, up 13.6 percent from the previous quarter and 54.5 percent from a year earlier, Xinhua news agency reported Thursday, citing a report released by researcher Analysis International. Of the total handset sales volume, 93.08 million were smartphones, up 20.7 percent quarter on quarter and 89.3 percent year on year. Smartphone sales accounted for 90.7 percent of the mobile phone market. The top three mobile phone brands remained Samsung at 18.4 percent, Lenovo at 12.5 percent and Coolpad, 10 percent, the report said.
