October CPI tipped to hit 3.3%, paper says

China’s consumer price index for October is tipped to be 3.3 percent, up by 0.2 percentage point from September due to increases in food prices, the China Securities Journal reported Friday, citing several unnamed analysts. One analyst from securities firm Shenyin Wanguo put the growth in food prices in October at 0.6 percentage point higher than the previous month. China’s October producer price index is expected to drop by 1.4 to 1.5 percent year on year, due to a slight fall in demand that has led to weaker prices in industrial products, the report said.
