CSRC chief wants small investors to have bigger say, paper says

Xiao Gang {肖鋼}, chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), said at the annual meeting of the International Association of Chinese Listed Companies that governance of controlling shareholders should be improved while small and medium-scale investors should be given more voice, the People’s Daily reported Sunday. Xiao also called for a civil compensation mechanism for breach of trust by controlling shareholders as well as effective implementation of the market exit mechanism, the report said.
