Govt warns against interference in power sales, paper says

China has warned local governments not to interfere with power producers and consumers in setting volumes and prices, Shanghai Securities News reported over the weekend, citing a notice from the National Energy Administration and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The directive came after certain local governments were found to have inserted themselves in power supply negotiations, contrary to market rules and to the detriment of the wider economy, the report said. Such interference must stop and power producers and consumers must be left to directly deal with each other, it said.
