Ministry to revise anti-monopoly law by year-end, Sina says

The Ministry of Commerce has backed proposed changes to China’s anti-monopoly law that would give private firms access to all industries except those deemed off-limits on national security grounds, news portal Sina Finance reported Sunday. The revisions, put forward by National People’s Congress deputy Zhu Lieyu from Guangdong, also call for the creation of an independent law-enforcement agency to oversee the changes, the report said. The ministry said it expected to finish reviewing the rules and submit them to the State Council by the end of the year, the report said.
