Pork prices down 0.4% in Oct. 21-30, NBS says

Retail prices for pork rump fell 0.4 percent to 26.56 yuan (US$4.35) per kilogram in the 10 days to Oct. 30, and pork belly prices shed 0.5 percent to 26.35 yuan per kilogram, according to the National Bureau of Statistics, which monitors the average prices of 27 staples in 50 major cities. The biggest drop was in the price of bananas, which fell 5.3 percent to 5.5 yuan per kilogram compared with the previous reporting period. Tomatoes led the price rises with a 13.6 percent increase to 8.04 yuan per kilogram during the period, followed by kidney beans, which rose 7.8 percent to 8.81 yuan per kilogram. The prices of rice, beef and soybean oil were stable.
