The Voice of China lures 1.3 bln yuan in ad buys, paper says

The third season of Zhejiang Satellite TV’s reality talent show “The Voice of China” has pulled in more than 1.3 billion yuan (US$212.727 million) in advertising income through an open auction, up over 30 percent from season two, the Beijing Evening News reported Sunday. Hong Kong-based JDB Group became the show’s title sponsor for 250 million yuan, 50 million yuan more than the previous season. Meanwhile, China Central Television said it has filled around 70 percent of the advertising slots available for programs next year, but its flagship New Year’s Gala show will continue to be commercial-free, He Haiming, director of CCTV’s Marketing Advertising Center was quoted as saying.
