US investor favors A shares over mainland property, paper says

Famed United States investor Jim Rogers said he bought China A shares rather than invest in property because of the central government’s continued emphasis on market regulation, Yangcheng Evening News reported Sunday. Rogers said mainland property prices are very high while the A-share market is relatively healthy, having come down 70 percent from their peak. Rogers is holding A shares again this year, the first time since November 2008, and will be closely watching stocks from the environmental, agricultural, financial and cultural sectoral, he was quoted as saying.
