Anadarko Petroleum eyes China asset sale, paper says

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. said it is considering selling its Chinese oil and gas assets worth an estimated US$1 billion to raise money for its United States business, China Securities Journal reported Tuesday. The Houston-based company owns a 35 percent stake in an oil and gas exploration project in China’s Bohai Bay. If the sale goes through, Anadarko Petroleum will join an increasing number of US oil and gas firms that have shifted their business focus from overseas back to their homeland, the report said.
