A site in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, has been sold for 10,349 yuan (US$1,696) per square meter, a premium of 245 percent, news portal 163.com reported Monday. The site will be used for a proposed gas station. The land area was not given. Chengdu is planning to sell 31 other sites with a combined area of 1.1 million square meters in November, down 49.4 percent from a year ago, the report said.
